About Amanda Blank
I’ve been drawn to animals and art for as long as I can remember. I grew up sketching alongside my mom and learning from my dad’s creativity, eventually teaching myself the techniques I use today. After years of study, experimentation, and practice, I found my niche in realistic colored pencil and graphite animal portraits — work that allows me to combine technical precision with emotional storytelling.
I work from my home studio, creating a limited number of custom commissions at a time. Each piece is thoughtfully planned and drawn by hand using professional-quality materials, allowing me to give every portrait the attention and care it deserves — usually with my dog, Beesly, keeping me company nearby.
Every portrait is a personal challenge: capturing the softness of a muzzle, the expression in a pair of eyes, and the subtle details that make a pet truly one-of-a-kind. My goal is for each drawing to become more than an image — it’s a lasting keepsake that brings comfort, joy, and a sense of connection long after it’s received.
